The Story So Far…

Lollapaloser

So, I’m back, as Courtney noted down there.
Lollapalooza was fun. The Bravery was, I think, more fun. One Degree Difference was good, but I was hurting so I didn’t kick it to the full extent permissable by law. Local Stranger was not good.
Chicago is pretty neat, and I’d like to move there. This week. Next week I’ll want to move somewhere else.
And don’t even fucking talk to me about shopping carts.
My arms and chest are killing me.

Man, I wrote this awesome post about going to Lollapalooza and then I forgot to submit it and lost it. That’s lame.

So, yea, I’m going to Lollapalooza in a few hours. Driving to Chicago. Yea.

If you are in the bathroom and have your cell phone on you and it rings, do you answer it or let it go and return the call?

Team Not Enough Sleep

So, Tricia and I hit Lawrence for some Team Sleep action last night. Had some delicious Greek food at Mad Greek (thanks Charles!) before going to stand in line for like an hour. Guess Team Sleep is more popular than I expected. We got in line before anyone started playing and by time we got in the door we got to hear the last 3 minutes of the first opening band. A shame too, cause they sounded awesome. They were called Scene Index.

The second opening band, Idiot Pilot were just okay in my book. I think Tricia liked em more than I did. It was two guys. One played guitar, keyboards, samplers, drum machines and screamed. The other danced around and sang. They sounded good but their sound got a little repeatative to me.

Team Sleep went on to the roars of “Chino! Chino! Yer the best man!!” from all the Chino fanboys in the crowd. They completely rocked the house and I love them. That boy can sing, I’ll say that. Decent guitarist too, which I didn’t know. They wrapped up their set with “Live From The Stage” which was all I wanted in the world.
We hung around a bit while the crowd cleared out and we finished our beverages and then went in search of a bathroom.

Found a bathroom and another band at the Replay Lounge. I think they were called Ghost Buffalo? Very cool. Chick singer guitarist with another electric guitar, acoustic guitar, electric bass and drummer. Pretty decent stuff. Sat around to sober up for a while and then went in search of food.

I really wanted Town Topic but I was willing to settle for Pizza Shuttle. Lucky for me Pizza Shuttle was closed so we pointed the car east and hit the damn road. Minus one unscheduled pee break and a tour of Kansas City looking for an ATM we made it to Town Topic unmolested and got down to some serious grubbin’. My belief that they have the best pancakes in the world was reinforced and Tricia went pretty much buck wild over her banana cream pie. Pretty unique crowd… and staff at Town Topic at 3am.

Dropped Tricia off at home, made it home alive and hit the sack. Work at 9:10am, which ain’t bad for settling down at 4am. Hell of a night.

If they play Live From The Stage, which I figure they will since I think they only have 15 songs, I am going to rock out so hard you’ll see it from Kansas City.
